We've partnered with other green companies to create products that are better for the environment - and the athletes. GeneralSports Venue works closely in the product development and testing stages with organizations like Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and research universities like Michigan State University (MSU).
AstroTurf innovations include:
AstroTurf's Root Zone® technology, which enhances field drainage while reducing compaction and fiber degradation.
All-rubber infill systems composed of highly durable cryogenic rubber, to mimic the best natural playing systems.
Monofilament extrusion, a process invented by AstroTurf that creates realistic single blades of synthetic grass by forcing polymers through individual spinnerettes.
Use of nylon yarns. The nylon yarns in AstroTurf Root Zone constitute the strongest sports fiber in the industry, resulting in a more durable product.
BioCel™ technology, an environmentally-friendly unitary polyurethane backing system that reduces dependence on foreign oils and landfill waste while extending product durability and improving indoor and outdoor air quality.
