New Year's Eve will again feature AstroTurf infilled systems as two nationally-televised bowl games will be played on AstroTurf. The Brut Sun Bowl (January 31, 2007 - 2pm EST on CBS) will have the University of South Florida taking on the University of Oregon. The game features two teams who were both ranked as high as #2 in the country during the past season. The game will be played at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, home to the University of Texas-El Paso.
The Roady's Humanitarian Bowl (January 31, 2007 - 2pm EST on ESPN2) will have Georgia Tech of the ACC against Fresno State University of the WAC. The game will be played on the most recognizable synthetic turf field in college football, the "Smurf Turf" AstroTurf infilled system at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho, home to Boise State University.
