The City of Russellville is pleased and honored to write a letter of recommendation to Pat Davidson of AstroTurf for the U.S. Communities application. There is a reason that the majority of American's call all artificial field turf or synthetic grass "AstroTurf®," because you have pioneered the excellence we know and love! The City of Russellville is proud to have an official AstroTurf® soccer field in our recreation complex.
From the beginning we have fought environmental issues and weather related droughts, floods and ice storms in our area. Our city is in the process of fighting back against these issues by "going green" and including AstroTurf® into our plans. The fields that AstroTurf® can provide will not need pesticides or chemicals that get into our soils and streams, and they will not require mowers or weed eaters to exude emissions into our air. Apart from the fact that AstroTurf® can provide us with the lowest competitive price, and give us the speed of installation (as we have been privileged to witness), we are already reaping the benefits of the physical fitness, the spirit of competition, the bond of team building and the lack of injuries from having our AstroTurf® field in use.
The CIty of Russellville in Kentucky is a rural community who had our first ball team advance to the Little League World Series in 2009. We take much pride in our small-but-dynamic profile. While working with AstroTurf® we were not only able to make our purchase at a significant savings, but also witness that not one competitor could compare with the speed at which the AstroTurf® designed, produced, delivered, installed, brought to completion and made ready for the games to begin!
In closing, I would like to say that I'm proud that the U.S. Communities, AstroTurf® and the City of Russellville have embraced this project. We intend to protect the AstroTurf® field while we protect the environment, our investment and most importantly, our kids.
