Craig Shonk, Director of Construction - Central
Craig Shonk joined us in July 2008. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Central Missouri State University. He brings to us thirteen years of general contracting and construction management experience. During Craig’s thirteen years of experience he has delivered over 235 million dollars worth of completed construction projects for his various clients. These projects consist of the construction of retail, commercial, healthcare and educational facilities. Craig’s primary responsibility at AstroTurf® is the role of Director of Construction for the Central Region.
He assists AstroTurf® in communicating with future clients, owners, architects and sub-contractors. Craig oversees the estimating and operations within the central region. His other responsibilities include project cost forecasting, value engineering and budget analysis. Craig oversees the day to day responsibilities of reviewing shop drawings and submittals, as well as processing RFI’s, cost proposals and developing project schedules. Craig uses his connections in the Central Region to assist in the sales and marketing for that region.
Craig has also successfully completed the ten hour OSHA safety training course and he is certified in CPR and First Aid. Craig resides in the Kansas City area with his wife Jill and their son Coby.
